A post-secondary education can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. For youth involved with child welfare, financial barriers often stand between graduation and opportunity. Through Educational Bursaries, donors help remove those barriers while creating a lasting legacy that supports future generations of young people.
Our Mission
The CFSGE Foundation’s Educational Bursary program provides meaningful pathways for donors, families, and organizations to invest in education as a long-term solution to building independence, confidence, and stability. Each bursary represents more than financial support. It reflects a community standing behind a young person as they step into adulthood and pursue their goals.
In 2025, nine students in Extended Society Care were supported as they entered post-secondary education, taking important steps toward self-determination and lifelong learning.
Your support helps sustain:
Post-Secondary Education Bursaries Providing direct financial support for youth pursuing college, university, trades, or specialized training.
Educational Support Bursaries Helping students cover living expenses, books, tuition, and essential costs so they can focus on success.
Current Named and Community Legacy Awards:
T. Dixon Moor Award: Recognizing a youth over age 21 who has demonstrated significant personal growth and educational or vocational achievement.
Andrew Koster Scholarship Award: Supporting Social Work or Social Services students with lived experience in care, empowering future leaders who bring compassion and insight to their professions.
Creating or sustaining a named bursary is a powerful way to leave a lasting mark. Donors can honour a loved one, celebrate a legacy, or invest in the future of young people in a deeply meaningful and enduring way.
